so just for a weight comparison (yes I know this won’t be accurate but why not lol). The gvwr for a 2020 Canadian fk8 is 3,880lbs. So if the capacity of the cars measure the same (which I’m sure they won’t) it seems like the new FL5 will weigh Around 90lbs more than the outgoing FK8. Just pure speculation on my part using my cars sticker compared to this one. First NameSteveJoinedJul 11, 2019Threads 9 Messages791Reaction score80Location Indianapolis, INCar(s) 2017 Civic Si Coupe
This is a pre -production car made for a press release. We know theyre gonna make the FL5 in japan for everywhere other than NA market. I don't buy this yet.

Maybe they're just making the 2023 models there while they ramp up US production for 2024 units? I imagine this could create some variability in quality/long term desirability First NameCar DriverJoinedMay 15, 2017Threads 26 Messages1,955Reaction score530Location On a Twisty RoadCar(s) 1.5T Civic, CTR, MX-5, Fit Vehicle Showcase2
It means markups will be thru the roof for Made in Japan units shipped to the US. Let’s hope the US plant gets some assembly time.

Explains why Canada (and potentially the U.S) are getting so few allocations.
